Ebenezer Chronicles: The Missing Spiritual Practice

Are you missing a spiritual practice that could bring joy and resilience to everyday life?

Could a practice of personal remembrance bring fresh power and joy into your spiritual experience?

As Bonnie Budzowski gathered her stories of how God’s grace touches her life, she became curious about the practice of recalling stories of God’s acts in Scripture. Among other things, she discovered that after God defeated Israel’s enemies with a raucous display of thunder, the prophet Samuel set up a memorial stone he called Ebenezer, Hebrew for “stone of help.” The psalmists memorialized God’s works with words rather than objects. When Jesus instituted the Lord’s supper, he created a ritual, saying, “Do this in remembrance of me.”

Could a practice of personal remembrance bring fresh power and joy into your spiritual experience? Bonnie invites you to consider this question as she blends her own stories with biblical reflections on faith, perspective, and prayer. Ebenezer Chronicles is a celebration of God’s grace in one life and an encouragement to revisit the practice of recalling God’s grace in your own.
